KingsWord Christmas Appeal
Since December 2020, during Covid19, we have been led to be a blessing to families in our community at Christmas.
We recognise that many families do not have the resources to buy enough food to sustain themselves during the Christmas period. As a church, we wanted to do something for those families who lived in our community. We know that this is something Jesus would have us do, and it is in keeping with our values which influence what we do.
So, we started off by speaking to Primary and Secondary schools around us and identifying families through the schools that we could be a blessing to with a Christmas Food Hamper. We know that a number of other charities are supporting families during this period, but we could see how what we contributed could also make a difference for these families and children.
Over the years, we have donated to children’s centres, primary schools, nurseries, and so on, in our community. This is now an annual community project for us and we are excited and privileged to know that God can use us and our various supporters and partners in this way.
We invite you to join us every year as we make Christmas a memorable time and spread the love of Jesus to families in the London Borough of Greenwich.
